Weekly Update May 9, 2012 12:00 AM CST ACTION ALERT! SF 225 is now moving! If you don't know what this is and you're interested in Iowa renewable energy, you should read it now. This could be a GAME CHANGER if done right!Please call Governor Branstad's office today to ask him to sign the solar and geothermal tax credit bill (SF2342)! The number is (515) 281-5211. The bill provides a state tax credit to match the federal tax credit for installation of geothermal and solar systems. For a homeowner installing a $10,000 solar system, it would provide a $1,500 state tax credit on top of a $3,000 federal tax credit. The bill (SF2342) passed the Senate 45-1 and the House by a vote of 82-14. I think it would help long term for Governor Branstad's office to hear some grassroots interest!
