I-Renew's headquarters are on the Prairiewoods campus. Our special partnership with Prairiewoods took a new step with the revitalization project of our headquarters.

Working with Rabe Hardware, we installed a new 14.4 KW solar panel array and an electric boiler to heat our radiant floor heating system. Not only that, but we worked with Prairiewoods to grid-tie our system through their Alliant service. This means that all of our surplus energy goes into the grid - increasing Prairiewood's solar generation from 30% of their needs to an estimated 60% of their needs, all while powering our building.

I-Renew is an all volunteer organization, made up of passionate activists that are hell bent on making renewable and sustainable energy the reality for Iowa.

As an organization, we've struggled at pionts even to keep the lights on. When this revitalization project materialized, it galvanized us to take the next step as an organization that's a part of a community -wide movement to improve and build in a more renewable and sustainable way.
