Working to create clean energy "On-Ramps" to the Electric Grid
The Iowa Renewable Energy Association (I-Renew) is a core member of the Distributed Generation Coalition, a coalition working for the development of clear and fair interconnection standards for owners of small renewable energy systems! We have filed our recommendations to The Iowa Utilities Board (a link to our filing can be found on I-Renew's homepage at www.IRenew.org) and will continue to monitor their progress, and act when necessary, to ensure fair standards are in place to enable wind and solar power to have an energy "on-ramp" to our electric grid!
You can show your support for small wind and solar by adding your name to our supporters list! Email irenew@irenew.org to sign up!
More information about I-Renew's work on creating a fair, safe and uniform interconnection process will be in our next issue of our newsletter, Energy Matters, coming out at the end of November. In order to be sure you will recieve a copy, become a member of I-Renew today! Download a membership form here: http://www.irenew.org/images/irenew_mail_me.pdf
Supporting our work through membership keeps us strong and working toward a future powered by clean energy!
Sincerely,
Michelle Kenyon Brown Iowa Renewable Energy Association Executive Director
Experience Solar Energy Firsthand; Explore National Solar Tour Sites throughout Iowa
I-Renew wants you to see solar energy in action! I-Renew is proud to host the National Solar Tour that is coming to over 10 communities in Iowa on Saturday, October 7th. Don't miss your chance to learn how easy it is to use the power of the sun to save money, the environment and protect our energy security! The National Solar Tour is a nation-wide event showcasing thousands of homes that use solar power to electrify, heat, and increase efficiency in homes, businesses, government, and community buildings.
In Iowa there are 18 locations around the state featuring an array of different uses of solar energy. Come out and see how real people are using solar energy to live a cleaner, more cost effective life that doesn't depend on our national energy security.
