Jeff
Benz was Iowa born & raised on parent's farm in far NW Iowa.
He was a carpenter
& Mason in US Navy Seabees, and a Vietnam Vet.
1977-78
– Attended Scott Community College, Solar Heating Technicians program.
1979
– Began installing Solar water & air systems in Iowa. Mostly DHW;
combination DHW & space heating; Pool heating.
1985
– 40% Federal Solar Energy Tax credit scheduled to expire by end of
the year lead to sharp decline of Solar sales. Continued to provide
service & repair.
Fall
of 1985 – Began employment with a manufacturers rep firm working with,
and selling hydronic heating equipment.
1986
– Rep firm became first in Iowa to promote RFH (Radiant Floor Heating)
using Pex tubing.
1995-Present
– Working full time in Wholesale distribution designing & selling
RFH & other forms of hydronic heating systems.
Throughout
the years Jeff has continued to help people understand how Renewable
Energy can be used to heat water used for daily domestic hot water
& space heating systems.
Specializing
in hydronic heating system designs using Solar hot water; wood, corn
or waste oil boilers; water-to-water Geothermal heat pumps; fossil
fuel back-up.
