Nowhere is the potential for renewable resources more visible than in wind energy. Iowa has the potential to produce 4.8 times its own annual electrical consumption through wind power. Becasue of decreasing capital costs, new technological advances and favorable legislation, wind power is Iowa's and the world's fastest growing renewable resource.

Iowa has 3,670 MW of installed wind power (According to American Wind Energy Assoc Jan 26, 2010 release) which is enough to power approximately 1,125,000 homes.
